Mermaid in a Current

Another mermaid tonight. I've really tried for a graphic approach with all the lines splaying out towards the right hand side. When I was doing a stock illustration portfolio, this linear approach to hair was a favorite. Its kind of neat to lead the eye straight out of the picture.

You can find her on auction here: http://www.tiny.cc/current

Below is a drawing done in brush and ink all they way back from 2002. What's old is new again!

I'd love to exchange links!

I did those spiraly flowers just for you, you know. :)

The mermaid has come out really well, the hair flowing with the current. Maybe it could do with more of a background unless you've cropped it for display.

Thanks so much anil!

The background I decided to keep fairly simple due to the 2.5" x 3.5" size.

You have such beautiful photos on your blog, btw. Thanks for stopping by!

Well, I should let you know that before I even read that comment, I went back and OUTBID that other bidder. Mm-hm, that's right! HA!!

Okay, I didn't know I was this competitive, but those two mermaid paintings are GORGEOUS.

And I think the backgrounds are perfect the way they are!

Take care,

I.

Say, Michelle--how does that tiny.cc thing work? The first time I clicked on it, I got an error message. I tried again, and it took me to the eBay listing.

Have you found this better than using an eBay link directly?

Take care,

I.

Ivan, I use the tinyurl link because I hate how the link goes over the edge in my blog. This shortens it to a manageble size.

Esthetic reasons only. LOL.
