Collection of Plates

"Mom - I need to come over and borrow some plates, I'll be there in five minutes!"
Such is inspiration sometimes. I LOVED painting this. Ellipses are freaking difficult though. I've forgotten the challenge of painting circular stuff freehand.

Oh, my.

I'm really just breathless over this latest work, Michelle! I saw it on one of our eBay groups and I just had to come over and tell you on your blog, too.

Ah! So beautiful.

I.

Thanks so much. I just had such a great time painting this.

I might have to make some sort of series out of this.

I really love the patterns--not just on the plates (again, you get such intense detail and realism on a textured surface, I'm dizzy with admiration!), but also the plates themselves!

Their arrangement--swirling and circular/elliptical--remind me of the flowers in your mermaid paintings. There's definitely an attraction to this sort of design and pattern (and it speaks to my heart!) that I would love, love, LOVE to see more of! A vote in favor of a series!!

Take care,

I.

That is awesome!

You know what Michelle - when I saw the top painting, I though you were actually painting the *pottery*, that's how amazing this looks. Then when I scrolled down, I realized you had painted a picture of the plates.

You are so talented. :)

When I first saw this, I thought that I was looking at a photo, not one of your paintings! Simply stunning! I don't know what else to say!
